What X-Yachts models are available for sale?
Two X-Yachts X4.9 are currently available: a 2023 MKI model, fully equipped and based in Malta — available for immediate viewing and sea trial at €825,000. And a brand new 2026 X4.9 MKII, arriving in Malta at the end of August 2026 at €1,150,000. Both are offered directly by a single private owner with no broker involved.
The 2023 MKI is fully equipped, battle-tested over two and a half years in the Mediterranean, and available now. The 2026 MKII is brand new — X-Yachts updated the hull form, revised the rudder geometry, reduced displacement, and improved performance across all points of sail. The MKII also has a larger sail wardrobe including a gennaker, 520W solar versus no solar on the MKI, and Raymarine electronics versus B&G. The price difference of €325,000 reflects the new build premium and updated specification.
The X-Yachts X4.9 is for sailors looking at serious 50-foot performance cruisers such as Arcona 50, Solaris 50, Grand Soleil 52, Contest 50, Nautor Swan 50, and similar yachts. It suits buyers who want comfort, safety, build quality, and real sailing performance without moving into a fragile or overly race-focused boat. X-Yachts are especially respected for their stiffness, engineering, seaworthiness, and performance under sail. In this size and price range, the X4.9 is arguably one of the strongest choices for sailors who want fast cruising, quality construction, long-term durability, and strong resale value.
Yes. The 2023 X4.9 is available for viewing by appointment in Malta. Malta International Airport (MLA) is well connected from most European cities. Viewings can usually be arranged within a few days of request. The 2026 MKII will be available for viewing and sea trial on arrival in Malta at the end of August 2026 — contact us now to register your interest ahead of delivery.
A survey by your own appointed marine surveyor is actively encouraged for the 2023 boat. We ask only that it is conducted at a mutually convenient time and that the surveyor holds appropriate professional qualifications (IIMS or equivalent). Sea trials can be arranged once a formal offer has been made or a deposit placed. For the 2026 MKII, sea trial will be available on delivery in Malta.
Neither boat currently has VAT paid. Both prices are stated excluding VAT. If you have specific VAT requirements or are purchasing as a business, we recommend seeking independent advice from a maritime lawyer before completing a purchase. We can provide full documentation on the VAT status of either boat.
Delivery within the Mediterranean can be arranged and is open to negotiation. For deliveries further afield — Atlantic Europe, the Caribbean, America or elsewhere — we can assist in sourcing a professional delivery skipper. Delivery costs and logistics would be agreed separately as part of the sale.
The owner is selling directly. This means no broker commission is added to the price — what you see is what is paid. You also deal with someone who has first-hand knowledge of both boats and will answer all technical questions directly and honestly. We believe this makes for a better sale for both sides.
Full documentation is held and available for inspection: original registration documents, engine service records and logbook (serviced annually by the Yanmar authorised dealer in Malta), all yard invoices, safety equipment service certificates, and original builder documentation and manuals. These are shared with confirmed serious buyers.
Contact us via the enquiry form, email, or WhatsApp. We prefer that all serious offers on the 2023 boat follow a physical viewing. Once an offer is agreed in principle, we use a standard MYBA-style sale agreement and request a 5% holding deposit to take the boat off the market while survey is completed. For the 2026 MKII, reservation ahead of delivery can be discussed directly — contact us for details.
We are open to discussing part exchange in principle, depending on the boat offered. Please provide details of any vessel you wish to propose as part payment when making contact.
X-Yachts is a Danish manufacturer known for building performance-oriented cruising yachts to a consistently high standard. The X4·9 is their flagship model — 15.3 metres of fast, seaworthy, well-built sailing yacht. They are not mass-production boats: build quality, hull stiffness, deck hardware, and sailing performance are all notably above the mainstream production market. X-Yachts hold their value well and have a loyal following among experienced sailors who want a boat that performs offshore as well as in harbour.
